This site provides more focused views of work in the different genres I work in. For a quick 'takes' in a traditional gallery format visit the overview site or for the shotgun view (with Instagram modified cropping) visit the Instagram page.
People tend have pre-conceived ideas about photographing people in public so it seems appropriate to briefly go over my ethics and legal obligations.
When photographing people in public I may, or may not, ask permission. It's never an easy call because you are attempting to get people 'as they are in their surrounding'. Most people will pose, or hide, if they know a camera is pointing at them. If I do take a picture of someone and they object, and ask me to, I will delete it out of respect for the individual. The photograph is not about the specific individual... The individual could be thought of as the actor in a scene. it's about life in that moment, place and situation.
